If surgery removes the tumor so the insulin can be released properly, the diabetes will be cured. Some people develop diabetes because of their cancer treatment. When removing the tumor also removes the part of the pancreas that makes insulin, diabetes will occur.

Making wise food choices can help keep blood sugar levels closer to normal and improve overall health. Medicines and exercise also help improve healing, control weight, and increase quality of life.
